Every year on April 22, Earth Day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. The connection that we have to nature, plants, and the land are integral to our health and all that we are. Earth Day reminds us to take care of our planet — whether it’s cleaning up litter, planting more trees, recycling, and repurposing, or going on a walk in a green space amidst the wildflowers.

The April 22 Earth Day, founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson, was first organized in 1970 to promote ecology and respect for life on the planet as well as to encourage awareness of the growing problems of air, water, and soil pollution.
