Elon Musk and Grimes have garnered plenty of attention since announcing the name of their newborn baby, but now it seems they can’t agree on how it should be pronounced.

Apparently, the ‘X’ stands for “the unknown variable,” ‘Æ’ is the musician’s ‘elven spelling of Ai (love &/or artificial intelligence),’ ‘A-12’ is, as gathered, a reference to the Lockheed A-12, or, in Grimes’ words, the ‘precursor to [the] SR-17 (our favorite aircraft).

Well, all that put together can be pronounced — “X-ash-A twelve”. Now that’s what one would actually call a really unique name for a baby boy.

While the name is certainly unique, to say the least, it may run into some administrative issues in California. California’s Office of Vital Records only accepts names that contain 26 alphabetical letters, as People reports, which means X Æ A-12 could be returned as invalid. “[Y]ou can’t have numbers, Roman numerals, accents, umlauts or other symbols or emoji,” California family law…
