Edward Michael Grylls was born on 7th June 1974 in London. Nicknamed ‘Bear’ by his elder sister when he was just one week old.
Family
Bear Grylls married Shara Cannings Knight in the year 2000. Together the couple has three sons, Jesse, Marmaduke, and Huckleberry. The family has a houseboat which is moored by London’s Battersea Bridge on the River Thames, and also own the remote Saint Tudwals Island West off Abersoch on the Llŷn Peninsula, North Wales. Both Bear and Shara are committed Christians, and Bear describes his faith as the ‘backbone’ of his life.
Bear Grylls, who is renowned for his reality show ‘Man vs. Wild,’ is an adventurer, traveller, and explorer. Adventure sports, such as mountaineering, sailing, and sky diving interested him ever since he was a child.
