1. Acacia trees can warn each other of danger.
Arcadia trees, which can be found throughout the African savannah, feature an unusual defense system. When animals such as antelopes eat the tree’s leaves, tannin production increases to toxic levels for the animals.
That’s not all, though. The tree then generates a cloud of ethylene gas, which spreads through the air and reaches adjacent trees, causing them to produce more tannins as well.
2. Owls don’t have eyeballs.
